Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Soulja Boy等人都炮轰2013年的MTV Hottest MC榜单。J. Cole似乎更加愤怒，接受采访说：I don’t give a f**k, f**k these guys. 许多歌迷认为J. Cole必须上榜。

Cole告诉DJ Drama，开玩笑说：“Somebody’s gonna die.”

接着开始严肃：I don’t know, but I don’t really give a f*ck. It is what it is. Think about it, from what they say, it’s the past year, I’ve had a quiet year.”

但他认为自己还是应该上榜：“I should be on there. I don’t give a f*ck, DJ Drama. They’re f*cking dead, and I’m gonna kill them.”

不过，Cole还是同意2 Chainz, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Future等人上榜, 但有些MC他们根本就没有可比性。

“Nobody is competing. Some of the guys you are putting up against each other are from different f**king planets. They shouldn’t even be in the same conversation. Future doesn’t even give a f**k about Kanye West. They don’t even interrupt each other’s lives and they aren’t competing on the same level, so what are you doing?”

闷闷不乐的Cole又说：
“We shouldn’t talk about this anymore. They want this. F*ck these guys.”

很多炙手可热的MC都没有上榜，引起了广泛的争议，只怪他们都太火了…J. Cole和DJ Drama认为：Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne是“Rap Gods”…不需要比较…
