Lil Wayne来到ESPN “SportsCenter”放出了新专辑Tha Carter V封面，并宣布了专辑将在10月28日发行。

封面是一张儿童时期的Weezy和母亲的照片，Weezy说，自己用这张照片还没经过妈妈同意。

Weezy说这张封面对他很重要，他多次用儿时照片，这次希望有一张和妈妈的合照，对Weezy来说，这不只是一张封面，也是成就：

“It’s perfect,” he said. “I always go with a baby picture and I wanted to go with one with my mom on it this time. This album means a lot to me. People been waiting on this album and I’m just at the point in my life and stuff to have my mom on there. It’s more than a cover, it’s an achievement.”

新专辑已经发布3首歌，包括Drake合作的2首歌曲：热歌Believe Me和Grindin，及Krazy。
