当你的专辑没有让人满意的销量作为保证时，你很难说自己的专辑是很好的，甚至是纽约10年来最好的说唱专辑。Diddy徒弟French Montana说过他本周刚刚发行的首张专辑Excuse My French是纽约10来最好的说唱专辑，不过它的销量预计惨不忍睹。

Hits Daily Double预测，这张专辑的首周销量将为4万-4.5万张。这与第一名的30万-32.5万有着巨大的差距。专辑只能排在榜单的第7名，而且还是他的首张专辑。

不过，French接受采访时谈到多少销量能够让他自己满意时，他表示他不是很在意销量，那不是很重要：

“Um, honestly, I really believe it’s not what you sell, but where you end up at. I feel like it doesn’t matter how much I sell; I know what kind of product I have,” he shared. He added that his album was “legendary” and “I know it’s going to last forever. I know once people hear it, people will be like, ‘Damn. This is really it.'”

Montana对自己的作品充满自豪和信心。

他还举例Akon等例子：

“Look at Akon. He sold 17,000 first week; he ended up selling five million copies. Look at Shaggy. He sold 10,000 and ended up at 10 million.”
